Appearance:Max's appearance gives him a cute/gang or mischievous look [Each that combines with his mood]. His brown spiky hair stays up with a few vigorous moments of his hands pushing them up, combined with a bit [itsy-bitsy quantity] of gel. A few short bangs cover the sides of his temple. The boy has large brown eyes which can be taken as "Kawaii" by some. At most, his natural looks have different opinions by different people.
He has a slender built [not underweight] meaning he isn't the strongest guy around. However he makes up for that with his wits and athletic abilities. You could say he uses Brains against bronze.
When In Uniform, he'll were his dorm coat, a black undershirt and the given trousers. Just like another student, however the stiffness doesn't really suite his fancy. Usually in uniform, you'll find him in rolled up sleeves [till elbows], a semi opened dorm jacket and a V-neck black undershirt. And these all go with a pair of black sneakers. But what stands out it the ribbon like stash [depends on his dorm color] around his neck, with a bell hanging on it. It maybe odd, but like everyone, Max has his own unique style - which comes with a purpose.
When in casual day-to-day outfit, Max wears a white V-necked undershirt just a little more than his waist. This again is with a blue short jacket with the sleeves rolled up till his elbows and a pair of black jeans or trousers. However his bell still stays on along with the cat he keeps with him. He may wear a watch or accessorize [bandannas/hand bands] at times, but these at occasionally. He isn't very picky of what he wears, so don't be surprised if you see him anytime in a contrasting outfit!

ONE
My name used to be Rouji Ryu - My mother was an american while my father a native to Japan. I lived in a rather rich household in Northern Japan - yet with my loving mother, inspiring father and my just so perfect older brother. He was Raiden Jai Ryu .His name meant "The Light Dragon" and he damn lived up to it alright. He was about 16 I guess. He used to be the brightest guy in his class, the fastest in his school and even Dad had made his the succesor of the family business.
TWO
Don't we sound like a family that will live happily ever after? Yea, well thats were your wrong. Although, finance and well being was to its limits, I was usually Ignored and pushed to be more like my brother. I didn't like it one bit - but something told be that they worried of my brother . And then, father wasn't happy with my grades, I heard the teachers speak had I had something called dyslexia. Back then, I didn't know what it meant. They said I was good for nothing. I never gave them a crap nor care until father took certain measure.
THREE
Father send me to this boarding school. I was heartbroken to leave my mother and family and so where they, but then they said it was for the best. I was alone back there, the teacher there too looked down upon me. But then, I met Akira, a lost kitten by the streets. It was pure white and was being chased and sneered off by the other cats. It reminded me of myself. I took him in my care where we became good friends. I finally had a friend. I used to spend a lot of time with him, I even gave him a slash around his neck with a bell - I began to were one myself. We became inseparable.
FOUR
Soon, a new teacher arrived - Mr Treve, he didn't look very old nor experienced. He was one of School Medical Staff. One day, he was put as our maths substitute. I don't know how, but probably a doctor thing - he came to know of my dyslexia. After that, he used to make me stay after class and teach me everything I learnt again. It was like torture. He used to tell me to think with my own mind - have your own opinions and ideas. It made no sense back then, but then again - something changed. My Grades became better and it surely surprised my teachers. I didn't need to guess to know who was responsible for it - and I was just seven!
FIVE
Dr. Treve soon became a great teacher and friend to me. He took me fishing, shopping and what not. I used to look up to him as a father [losing attachment to his real one]. He introduced me to my first , first aid kit and even these things called Duel Cards. But once, Akira was heavily injured. I didn't know what to do as I cried. Thats when Treve saved his life. He wasn't a veterinary,, but th first aid he gave did keep my precious friend alive till we got to on. It was then when I begun to think medicine as a career - perhaps saving both Humans and animal from suffering was destined in my life?
SIX
And then... tragedy strikes! My brother was killed in an car crash. The whole family was in shock. I was so sad that my tears could flood the place. My mother was affected by this the most - she went into such a shock. Thats when I was brought back from boarding. She forgot she had a second son and began addressing me as Raiden. No one ever knew who Rouji was, and so it never made a difference for them renaming me "Raiden Ryu". It was so cold of them, it was like I never even knew them. All these changes in just my life in twelve long years?
SEVEN
Hatred for them began to develop in my heart. I didn't speak much nor ever answer to what they called me. I used to leave the house in the morning and return perhaps at 10 at night. Where did I go? Where else! - To Treve's house. He used to be a doctor at this place called "The Duel Academy" and he knew its purpose and game. He began to teach it to me. I became interesting in it and all the stories he told me of that place. He was only one who used to still call me Rouji.
EIGHT
Thats when I made up my mind - I wanted to attend this academy. With no troubles of the past. Even my dyslexia began to fade off. When I told this to my 'parents', they immediately denied my going away. They said I was they're only child now. But my hatred for them was deep. Its just because brother no longer existed - or I would still be treated like trash. They stopped my going to Treve's house. And thats when they made their final mistake.
NINE
I did something which I have no regrets on. I ran away to Treve. He said it was wrong, but he didn't know my story. When I told him, his views changed. He was still reluctant on my choice of attending the school with my parents knowing. But finally he agreed. He admitted me to Duel Academy. I was then thirteen and happy. But Treve then went and told my parents - he couldn't told such guilt. My parents came all the way to get me back, but thats when I pushed them out by the truth. When They tried force, I told the authorities of these 'strangers'. They were sent back immediately. It seemed my mother couldn't take this anymore. Not longer than a week after - she passed away. I didn't shed a tear nor attend her funeral.
TEN
It was then I took the decision of being Treve's son. He had no problems to it, he himself loved me dearly for six long years now. I was name "Raiden Raikuro". And then, I added my Identity -Max. Living in my brother's shadow wasn't going to ruin a new start. Its now been three4 years in the academy. I'm happy- me and Akira are living the life. I'm a medical student here. Treve regularly visits and keeps in touch. He has even given me his prized Deck! And now what awaits me this year?
